Who Wants Kids when You can have a Good Cat?

Back in the day, just before and early into my married life I was one of those guys that was pretty sure that I did not want kids. I was married when I was 24 and it was not until I was 29 that we had our first one. Kids, were these things that would most likely be in the way all of the time. After all, how could we enjoy each other if we were having lug all of that stuff around in a mini-van, mostly the un-coolest vehicle ever produced. I thought that sending the kids to school was a good thing, less time they would be around to interrupt whatever it was that I wasn't busy doing at the time I wasn't doing it. These activities usually included eating out, quietly watching a movie or sitting on the deck watching our 4 cats play in the yard, what fun we were having! Why the heck would someone want to have kids and deal with the spitting up, throwing up and burping up when they could opt for the simple scooping out the cat box once a week. What I did not realize at the time was that when I thought that I was too busy doing all of the things that I thought made life worth living I was really just killing time waiting for the real fun to start with my kids.
